My husband built our sled a few years ago, and
we've been having a blast ever since! Unfortunately, we live too far away
from any competitive races. Most days in the winter when we have off from
work you can find us on the trail!
We start training from the beginning. When I
train the dogs in obedience, I use the mushing commands. The dogs get used
to the harness throughout their puppy-hood. When we feel their skeletal
system is grown and can handle more rigorous training, they begin pulling a
light load.
